Welcome to GS Defensive Driving School's web site. It's full of information that will help you in knowing about our driving school and what will fulfill your needs.
Driving schools are NOT all alike, although they are all licensed by the Department of Licenses.  The different types of courses that they offer, the level of experience that their instructors have, the cost and availability of their courses, may vary greatly from one school to the next.

The staff at GS Defensive Driving hopes that you will take the time to ask the right questions and do a little research before selecting a driving school. We feel that of all the schools and of all the courses that need to be taught properly, driver's education would have to be at the top.

Our lead instructor, Mr. G., is a:
  • Certified Washington State Professional teacher
  • WA State endorsed Traffic Safety instructor
  • A member of WA Traffic Safety Education Association (WTSEA)
  • Washington State Drivers Education Curriculum Development Committee member
  • Has over 20 years experience teaching Drivers Education Curriculum nationally and  internationally
  •  Still actively works with Island County School Districts
  • Senior Certified Instructor for; "Seniors...Getting there Safely -- 55 and Above" curriculum.

GS Defensive Driving School

is a proud member of the -------

REQUIREMENTS

GS Defensive Driving School's classes are held on Tuesday's, Wednesday's and Thursday's.  In order for you Teen to be enrolled in this school he/she must be 15 years old.  The Department of License (DOL) requires a 5 week program.  Each session requires 30 hours of classroom time, 6 hours of behind-the-wheel time and 1 hour observation time behind-the wheel.  We have a freeway drive that we do towards the end of classroom sessions.  We ask your assistants in practicing driving with your teen as much as possible. We also require your teen to attend with a parent to a class called IDIPIC. For more information on IDIPIC go to http://www.idipic.org.

We cannot permit anymore session signup after the 3rd day.  Students enrolled in the class can't miss more than 3 consecutive days of classes and will not be permitted to get credit for that session.  They will have to appear at the next session again to get credit.  Students that miss more than one (1) day will have to make up the classes they miss next session.

First day of class we have a parents night for each and every session.  We provide this for parents to become aware of what there teen is learning and the importance of being involved, as well as a question/answer forum.
